About Us

The Canada 150th Adhoc Planning Committee is a group of dedicated volunteers that are planning the Saugeen Shores Celebrates events for the summer 2017, in hopes of leaving a lasting legacy project to future generations commemerating Canada's 150th anniversary of confederation.


It is the mandate of the Canada 150th Adhoc Planning Committee to create and implement events and provide points of reference, and resources for subcommittee events that are being planned for the community of Saugeen Shores to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary. These events are to be inclusive of all residents and visitors to Saugeen Shores, and celebrate the cultural and historical uniqueness of Saugeen Shores.

Our Mission Statement:

“To create community events that demonstrate that Saugeen Shores celebrates the Canadian values of being “Strong, Proud and Free” and to reflect on what it means to be Canadian in the historic community of Saugeen Shores, while Celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary.”
